The writing projects that Murmurations: Journal of Transformative Systemic Practice has established reflect a preoccupation with a need for the systemic practice community to feel ownership of our journals, to feel connected to the texts they read, and feel entitled to take up space with their writings.

1. Pandemic as Systemic Flux

(systemicflux.com)

Critical times need new ways of responding. This writing project is such a response. Our writings can help us make sense of how our worlds are changing and how we want to help change our worlds. Writing creates community and takes us all further. The Pandemic as Systemic Flux writing project is a platform for many different sorts of writing  poetry, flash tales, papers and imagery. Contributions are welcome from systemic people across transdisciplinary communities to offer different perspectives and create new connections. We ask for writings from the heart, from the kitchen table, from the care home, the streets, the relatives’ waiting area, from our shared or personalised life-work spaces.

Systemic flux is a term we are using to draw attention to emergent processes with many kinds of relational consequences. Different shape-changing systemic and relational processes are affecting – and being affected by - human and non-human lives/materials, ideas, narratives and values. These movements can unfold at a snail’s pace or in a lightning flash. As systemic or relationally attuned people, we are well-placed to capture our observations and use writing as a similar form of flux in shaping and reshaping our ideas and noticings for ourselves and others to learn from.

The First Wave of this project (March - October 2020) is being archived and transitioning to move into the Second Wave of this project.

See end of this page for the guidance and invitation to submit to Pandemic as Systemic Flux website.

2. Writing Workshops

Twice a year we host online writing workshops for systemic and relationally attuned professionals to develop their writing for publication. These workshops encourage first person writing from within the living moment of practice. Watch this space for dates of the next workshops.

3. This Systemic World

Coming soon: This weblog addresses how we change our world through systemic understanding, imagining and acting to challenge power relations which get in the way of social and climate justice.
