Impact of Reading
Calling All Trainees and recent graduates
invites you to
submit a short paper for publication
in response to the following three questions:
- How do papers I read in Murmurations affect what I do in my practice?
- How am I engaging with and elaborating on the provocations, theories or practices within those papers?
- How am I using these papers to enable and support my contribution to decolonising practice as a professional and as a community member?
GUIDANCE
- Focus on one or two papers from Murmurations: Journal of Transformative Systemic Practice.
- Make sure your paper responds to the questions above.
- Write something that interests you and that will interest us, your readers.
- Please sound like you and show yourself.

- Create your own title.
- Start with a 100 word synopsis of the paper.
- Work out a clear structure for the paper.
- Papers will be 1000-1500 words long.
- Provide the full reference for the paper(s) you have chosen.
- Submit your paper through the website.
- The deadline is 15th April 2026 but earlier submissions are encouraged.
- You will experience the process of article submission, peer review, feedback to support the development of your paper towards publication.
- If you are part of a course, consider small groups of 3 or 4 to feedback on each other’s papers before submitting.
We’re hoping to devote a whole issue to a collection of these papers.
