These papers challenge the place of single stories in creating binaries which individualise and separate people and place and other lifeforms from each other - and detach them from the context of their production. Systemic social constructionist practitioners are interested in how language and action can liberate or reinforce othering and degradational practices as binary “truths” insidiously find their way into the everyday, reinforced through professional theory, policy and practice.
